Raymond “Monk” Burdette, 95, of Hardinsburg passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Breckinridge Health Inc, in Hardinsburg.
“Monk” was born on March 29, 1924 in Tar Fork, KY to the late Vernie and Cora Sanders Burdette. He served his country during WW II and was part of the Normandy invasion and also served during the Korean War. After serving his country he worked in the logging industry and was a member of the American Legion.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Terry Eugene Burdette and sister Viola Burdette Clark.
Leaving behind to mourn his passing but celebrating the life that he lived is his wife, Agnes Burdette of Hardinsburg; son, Randy Burdette, Hardinsburg; daughter, Patricia Mae Burdette Davis; grandchildren, Jason Scott Brown and Tracy Lynn Moore and 9 great grandchildren.
A celebration of “Monk’s” life will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 13 at Cloverport Funeral Chapel with Rev. Todd Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Cloverport Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 11:00 am until service time.
